![]() ![]() ![]() Some of you who know me may know that, for a long time, it has been my goal to recreate Rock Raiders vehicles and buildings from the PC game in LEGO Digital Designer. ![]() As a recent victim of art theft myself, I refrained from using anything but the Rock Raiders manual and direct screenshots/videos from the game for reference, to avoid copying anyone else's models. In fact, while doing Google searches for reference pictures, I stumbled upon quite a few attempts by various people. No doubt that this project has already been attempted by countless before me. Just download Bricklink Studio and you can open the file :) it's like Lego Digital Designer but community-basedĮdit: I should also add that the design for the underside is actually fairly clearly visible in the official render of the vehicle, it looks so very flimsy (and it kind of is) but the 4x12 brick holds it up remarkably well.As of today, I do believe that I have at last finished a project of mine that I've been working on for a long time. It also follows the available bricks of the time period (but not strictly with colours, as many other LRR models had parts of unavailable colours). I've been constructing a complete model collection for Manic Miners which includes the LMLC, and while it can't be made perfectly, this one is really sturdy in real life due to the 4x12 underside because I've built it myself. There are only two known instances of seeing the backside of the vehicle: The in-game model (which is terrible) and a shot from the prototype storyboards, the "Armoured Dillo" story The LMLC is arguably the hardest vehicle to build. ![]()
